A real-life visit to Tomten is sure to change your life. Whether you have been following our journey for years or are discovering us for the very first time, you are in the right place. We open our gates regularly for special events and educational opportunities -- and while we are not able to accommodate drop-in visits or private tours, we would love to welcome you at one of our upcoming events. We cannot wait to meet you.
Educational Walking Tours
Our educational walking tours bring you up close and personal with more than 100 Rescues enjoying peace, protection, and possibility. We know you love animals, want to find out more, and see how you can make an impact -- and there is nothing like a Tomten Tour to educate, inspire, and instill an appreciation for all animals. Perhaps you want to meet your favorite Rescues, the ones you have fallen in love with on our Facebook or Instagram pages. Maybe you would like to see our latest projects and progress as we continue to create this place of dreams come true. Or you are just champing at the bit to return and see old friends, the Rescues that together we saved. Whatever the reason, you and your friends and family are invited, and we cannot wait to welcome you.
Offered spring, summer, and fall, our tours give you a chance to get up close and personal with our Rescues, hear their histories, and if you are new to the journey, familiarize yourself with our mission, methods, and philosophies. There is always plenty of time to have all your questions answered, take lots of photos, and connect with the beautiful lives who call Tomten home -- all while immersing yourself in the magic of our special sanctuary, nestled in the Connecticut River Valley and sitting just on the edge of New Hampshire's beautiful White Mountains.
Don't miss your opportunity to experience anywhere from 1.5 to 5 full hours of Tomten on a whole new level. Our next Tomten Tour is sooner than you think.
Registration opens in April. Dates are listed below -- links will be active once open registration opens.

Tours are RSVP Only.
As with any successful event, structure makes things go smoother. Head count is important and Tomten Tours are an RSVP only event. We ask that you be considerate of those who may be on our waiting list -- should your plans change, please let us know so others may attend. Tour spots go quickly and we hate to say no to an inquiring visitor only to find there actually was room. Because it detracts from the experience of all attendees, we regret that no early birds, late arrivals, or unexpected drop-ins are allowed -- no exceptions. Avoid disappointment: check traffic and road conditions, plan your drive accordingly, and watch for native NH wildlife. Tomten is located on a dirt road, so don't become alarmed when the pavement ends -- you are not lost. If you arrive early, please wait in your vehicle alongside the road until gates open. Please note that we lock all farm gates once the tour has started.
Admission
We welcome everyone through our gates -- and we have a special thank you waiting for those who have been part of our journey.
$25 Donation Admission
To offer peace, protection, and possibility to even more animals and host you -- our fabulous guests -- we need the help and support of all who enjoy Tomten and believe in what we do. We request a nominal, non-refundable, tax-deductible contribution of $25 per person (all ages) for all who are joining us for the first time or returning after some time away. Tour revenue is directed immediately toward supporting event costs -- did you know that renting our porta-potty costs almost $2,000 a year? Should we generate any additional funds, every bit goes directly toward the daily care of our Rescues -- and the truth is, there is never a day when they could not use more.
Free Admission for Current Tomten Supporters
Those who have been contributors within the past 12 months enjoy free admittance to our public tours -- and this is one of the ways we say thank you. Your generosity makes everything here possible, and welcoming you through our gates at no cost is a privilege we are grateful to offer.
Children
Our tours are designed with adults in mind. Because we transparently explore why we rescue and the difficult fates our Rescues faced before finding their happily-ever-after at Tomten, some content may not be suitable for younger children. Children 10 and older are welcome, and we ask that there be one adult per child at all times. If you are hoping to introduce younger children to Tomten, we would love to help you find the right way to do that -- just give us a call at 603-989-5800.

Our Rescues
Neigh, moo, baaa, meow, cluck, oink, honk, maaa, bray, hum, and of course cockledoodledoo -- our Rescues cannot wait to see you. We do remind participants that this is a guided educational walking tour and not a trip to a petting zoo. First and foremost, we are here for the animals. Our Rescues are invited to interact should they so choose, and we respect their decision to approach or not as we travel together throughout Tomten Farm and Sanctuary.
Important details
Security and safety are important to the wellbeing of all at Tomten Farm and Sanctuary and we take that seriously. We require appropriate footwear (no open-toe shoes), a signed release, and a photo ID from each individual to enter our property. Please print a Tomten release at home, review it at your leisure, sign it, and bring both the form and your photo ID to the tour. We cannot admit anyone without a release and photo identification -- no exceptions, so please don't forget.
Arrival
Gates open 15 minutes prior to tour start times -- please plan to arrive then for check-in. Our gate does not open until that time as we are all busy preparing. Our address is 929 Court Street and we ask that you park at the big red barn. Should you arrive prior to gates opening, please wait alongside the road.
We so look forward to welcoming you. Thank you for being on this journey with us -- together we make dreams come true for animals in need.
Neigh, moo, baaa, meow, cluck, oink, honk, maaa, bray, hum, and of course, cockledoodledoo!
